A lovely magnolia close-up. It is a stunningly beautiful flower, and its beauty is enhanced when seen up close. Magnolias are available in a variety of colours and shapes, ranging from creamy white to blush pink, with single petals to full blossoms. Because the lighting was so good, I decided to frame the shot as an intimate landscape. With a flower in sharp focus in the foreground and more of them in soft focus in the background. I wanted to capture the delicate beauty of the flower. I believe my composition and depth of field allowed me to create a piece that highlighted the beauty of both the flower in sharp focus and the magnolia that was further out of focus.
